A fifteen card insert set commemorating Cal Ripken Jr.
Cards 1-10 were inserted into 1:12 packs; cards 11-15 were available thru 10-wrapper mail-in and $4.95 shipping and handling.
My son and I flew in to Maryland in 2003 on a baseball stadium trip (Camden Yard, Veterans, Yankee and Shea stadiums). We went to the minor league ballpark in Aberdeen, and the Ripken Museum but I didn't think of visiting the high school ballfield Cal played on.
That would have been cool.
I probably have this card in the Ripken section of my binder, but I never knew he pitched in high school. Striking out 17 in the championship game is pretty impressive. Guess I should take more time to appreciate the back of cards.
